So, I guess every time I make a “day –” post, it’s going to be a journal entry. Yay! What’s more exciting than reading about someone else’s life?! I don’t even know where to start?? I haven’t been doing much in the past few weeks. Just small things like going to a movie, going out on the boat, etc. And of course, obsessively watching The Walking Dead and drawing, writing, and singing. Woohoo… Continue reading “Day 4”
“Isn’t it funny how day to day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different…”
Irish poet and author Clive Staples Lewis, better known as C.S. Lewis
As one of my recent poems, meaning 4 months ago I wrote it, I found it fit to use it as my first actual post under Poetry/Writing category, since it’s one of my favorites and I’ve revised it like, 4 times. Haha, anyway, here it is:
My Hellish Angel
There’s an angel,
He exists only in my nightmares.
Behold, after long, he’s everywhere.
His eyes, they trap you in his stare
His hands so hiemal.
His heart unbeating.
Tells a mystery within,
how life can be deceiving.
Weary his smile,
Tears form in my eyes.
Not before long,
his sweet breathe will demise.
Right through him,
Right here,
Stands my hellish angel,
my Azrael dear.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep.
But I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep.
Robert Frost
Oh. My. Gosh. First of all, this book is overall amazing. I actually read and finished it a few months ago. But it’s one of those books that stick in your head forever and the story goes with you where ever you go. The book is split-view meaning the chapter are split between the views of the two main characters, Violet Markey and Theodore Finch.
It starts out with the thoughtful Finch. A writer, guitarist, singer, all around genius in a way. Finch is dark yet adorable and that makes him easy to fall in love with. Violet is in a way, troubled but strong girl who finds an unlikely friend in Finch. He pushes her limits until there aren’t any but not without bumps along the way. The one thing they have in common? They were depressed, but found a friend in one another.
Now I’m not going to put any spoilers here for those who haven’t read it so all I have to say is this book can change your perspective on life. The characters are so thought-out and developed, they make they’re way into your heart and make your emotions go on a never-ending roller coaster. The way the author connects to the reader though the words is just unbelievable. The main reason I really, really love this book is because 1) it has a LOAD of quotes and 2) it is so relatable for me.
This is a total read in the corner with tissues and Oreos and cry sort of book so WARNING: THIS BOOK IS A TEAR JERKER
All I have is praise for the book and author and can’t wait to read any other books she’s going to publish, if any. So, if you’re a bookworm and a young adult love story kinda person, this book is TOTALLY worth reading!

I decided to do a little collage and piece this amazing book together because I feel like that’s the best way to describe it, pieces of different perspectives, aspects, and people all in about 124000 words on 400 pages making one story. Dont’ forget to read my review on All the Bright Places coming Friday! It will be under the tab Books.
Thanks for reading,

“The world breaks everyone, and afterward, many are strong at the broken places.”
–Ernest Hemingway, famous American author and journalist
This weeks quote was found in ‘All the Bright Places’ by Jennifer Niven. It was used as an epigraph, which is a quote at the beginning of a book, paper, etc. I just recently found out it is going to be made into a movie so I’ll be doing a review and book photography of this wonderful book.
My favorite day of the week is Thursday. I really don’t know why, it just always seemed to enchant me. So, that being said I looked up some facts about Thursdays:
In Old Norse, thorsdagr, or Thursday, means “Thor’s day.” Thor being the Norse god of thunder. He is represented as riding a chariot drawn by goats and wielding the hammer Miölnir. Also, is played by the human sculpture that is Chris Hemsworth in the Thor and Avengers movies if you needed a refresher.
Some other translations are;
Old English- thunresdæg which means “thunder’s day”
Latin- dies Jovis or “day of Jupiter”
Ancient Greek- hemera Dios meaning “day of Zeus”
And that’s some random Thursday facts for ya. Moving on… I’m not sure what I should put in the life column… I mean I could just do stuff like this where I just pick random topics that relate to my life right now and talk about them. That’s the whole point of a blog. right? Ugh. I guess that’s all I have for today. I’ll post again later today also.
Thanks for reading,
Shelby
