Day 13

They say the past comes back to haunt you. Do you believe that? I do. But not because that’s life, oh no. It’s because of people.  Continue reading “Day 13”

Oh Alice

It would only seem

as if it were a dream

when willows were whispering,

when fireflies were flickering.

Oh Alice, dear Alice

can’t you see?

This place is full of malice

This is not where you should be.

Wake up, wake up,

the rabbit is rambling,

the pack of cards is assembling.

Oh well, oh well,

what shall we do?

Only time may foretell,

but for now, life shall be askew.

But wait! Whats ahead?

Do I dare say there’s a rip in the thread?

This moment, this minute, this existence

has ceased.

“Who are you?”

“I — I hardly know, sir, just at present — at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”

Confusion, nonsense, madness.

Goodbye Wonderland.

We bid ado to your grandness.

From simpleton thoughts

to the curious inquisitions,

This oneiric time adjourns.

Alice, dear Alice,

welcome back.

Miscommunication

Shelby’s been writing again! What do I have in store this time? Well, honestly, I have mixed feelings about this. It seems sorta… Amateur-ish and cheesy. Ya feel? Haha, well as always, feedback is appreciated! Enjoyyyyy 🙂 Continue reading “Miscommunication”

Quote of the Week

“You see I usually find myself among strangers because I drift here and there trying to forget the sad things that happened to me.”

-The Great Gatsby by Scott F Fizgerald

My Hellish Angel

As one of my recent poems, meaning 4 months ago I wrote it, I found it fit to use it as my first actual post under Poetry/Writing category, since it’s one of my favorites and I’ve revised it like, 4 times. Haha, anyway, here it is:

My Hellish Angel

There’s an angel,
He exists only in my nightmares.
Behold, after long, he’s everywhere.
His eyes, they trap you in his stare
His hands so hiemal.
His heart unbeating.
Tells a mystery within,
how life can be deceiving.
Weary his smile,
Tears form in my eyes.
Not before long,
his sweet breathe will demise.
Right through him,
Right here,
Stands my hellish angel,
my Azrael dear.

Quote of the Week

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep.

But I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep.

Robert Frost

Quote of the Week

“The world breaks everyone, and afterward, many are strong at the broken places.”

Ernest Hemingway, famous American author and journalist

This weeks quote was found in ‘All the Bright Places’ by Jennifer Niven. It was used as an epigraph, which is a quote at the beginning of a book, paper, etc. I just recently found out it is going to be made into a movie so I’ll be doing a review and book photography of this wonderful book.
